"One month has passed. Pierce left town, and my heart is still broken. However, I've been crying less and less which is a good sign. I still miss him, but I guess I got to learn to live life without him. Maybe I should hang out with Serene or maybe even Walker and Daisy more often. Hopefully I'll move on."
"Why did I even agree to this?" Pierce says, looking in a mirror. He sighs, and looks at his small amounts of rewards from competitions. 10:15 the clock reads. Feeling his blood boil, Pierce lifts up a few packed up boxes, and brings them out to the car that brought him here. Dumping them, he awaits midnight for his escape.
"Why do you think he hasn't sent any letters, or even a phone call?" I say to Serene, twisting the phone cord.
"Maybe he wants to come back eventually, all cheesy and romantic?" she replies.
"But what if he doesn't come back? And what are the odds he likes me—or did?"
