A Fresh Start - Chapter 8 (Final)
"One month has passed. Pierce left town, and my heart is still broken. However, I've been crying less and less which is a good sign. I still miss him, but I guess I got to learn to live life without him. Maybe I should hang out with Serene or maybe even Walker and Daisy more often. Hopefully I'll move on."
"Why did I even agree to this?" Pierce says, looking in a mirror. He sighs, and looks at his small amounts of rewards from competitions. 10:15 the clock reads. Feeling his blood boil, Pierce lifts up a few packed up boxes, and brings them out to the car that brought him here. Dumping them, he awaits midnight for his escape.
"Why do you think he hasn't sent any letters, or even a phone call?" I say to Serene, twisting the phone cord.
"Maybe he wants to come back eventually, all cheesy and romantic?" she replies.
"But what if he doesn't come back? And what are the odds he likes me—or did?"
"I'm not sure, Jared. But I need sleep. Goodnight." Serene says, hanging up the ph

Many months pass, and many changes happen throughout the town. The train station is fully built, and a train now comes in and out of town. A few shops move to the new shopping mall as well. Everything seems as blissful as can be. Mid-April, a rainy day is seemingly normal.
"Hey Jared!" Serene yells from a pine tree, holding a pretty yellow umbrella.
"Hi Serene!" I say, walking up to her, holding up my umbrella, shaped like a leaf.
"How's Pierce?" she asks. I blush, and respond delightfully. Nodding, she walks over to her house, inviting me in.
"You two are just so cute! But bleh, let's stay inside. I'm tired of rain." She says, as I agree. "Want some juice?"
"That'd be nice!" I say, nodding happily. She gets out two glasses, and pours the juice in them on the counter. Leaving them there, she opens the door, as she hears a slam on it. A big blue eagle walks through the door, putting his eyes on me.
"Hey Jared." Pierce says, smiling.
"H-hey." I say, as I look up at him. No matter how m

"Jared, so you're telling us that Joey pushed you into your home, held you hostage, and cut you whenever you screamed? Then tried to sexually assault you and Pierce saved you?" Copper asks.
"Yes, Mr. Copper."
"Joey this is unlike you. We'll be keeping you longer. Jared, Pierce, you're free to go." Booker says, opening the door.
"I'm sorry for this, Pierce." I say, as we walk out of the Police Station.
"It's alright " he says lowly. We walk back to his house.
"I'm just going to go." I say, nodding. I turn away, and my nose starts pinching, like I'm about to cry. A few minutes later, I bump into Serane.
"Oh, hello. Your name's Jared?" she asks.
"Yep." I respond.
"You look down "
"Come with me, Jared." She says, grabbing my hand. She drags me to her house. As we walk in, I see Rosie, sitting on a bed with a tea set next to her. Serane nudges me to sit next to Rosie, who hands me a warm cup of tea.
"We thought that everything you went through you'd want som
A Knight Thing - Chapter 3"Wake up, sleepy head "Eagus muffles, seeing Link still asleep on his bicep. Link sits up and looks at the man.
"What time is it ?"
"It's about 6am." Eagus says, as he gets up from the bed. Link does the same. Link gets on his waistcloth and his belt, and Eagus puts on his tunic and shawl.
"I wanted you to know, I'm going to be eighteen in few months."
"I already knew that. How could I forget?" Eagus chuckles.
"I know, but you're 28. If someone finds out about what we're doing in the months I'm still seventeen, things could get ugly." Link says, fixing his hair in a mirror in the bathroom. After putting on his cap, Eagus walks over.
"No one's going to find out anything. I promise." Eagus says, putting a hand on Link's shoulder. After seeing him in the mirror, Link turns around.
"I never actually said it but I like you a lot." Link admits.
"I feel the exact same." Eagus says, putting his hand behind Link's neck. He pulls him in for a quick kiss. Afte
Inspector Wolf The old lady was dead. I could smell it before I even got into the house. The whole place reeked of adrenaline, sweat, fear, copper and steel. He’d dropped her right in her living room. Chopped and chopped until she stopped moving. But I could tell I was getting close. This had been done in a hurry, and the killer didn’t have the time to clean up after himself like he usually did.
Across the room, the phone rang. The shrill sound set my teeth to grinding, but I ignored it. Instead I followed the killer’s bloody footprints into the back bedroom. He’d climbed out the window. If I hurried, I could catch up to him and end this disgusting spree he was on.
Then the answering machine kicked in. “Hi, Gramma! It’s Red. Sorry I’m running late. I kind of lost track of time. But don’t worry. I packed the picnic and I’m heading out the door right now. Love you.”
She’d been expec
